Colorful collage for the play 'Room Temperature' by Francisco Lupini, featuring a woman's eyes with blue eyeshadow, red lips, black-and-white hands, a thermometer, a pink flower, and bold, overlapping letters spelling 'Room Temperature'.

Synopsis: Cecilia has been called cold for most of her life. Successful, fiercely independent, and unapologetic about the choices she has made, she has never quite understood why this should be considered a character flaw.

Now her mother is dead, and Cecilia has been entrusted with delivering the eulogy. She has prepared something appropriate. Unfortunately, her memories refuse to follow the script.

As lovers, family arguments, old resentments, and unfinished conversations intrude upon the occasion, what begins as a respectable farewell becomes an increasingly unruly portrait of two women who loved each other without always knowing what to do about it.

Wickedly funny, intimate, and unexpectedly moving, Room Temperature is a play about grief, the peculiar cruelties of family, and everything we discover too late to say to the people who knew us best.

Conceived for either a solo performer or an ensemble of four actors.

Full play available upon request.
